To all the Vancouver, BC, Joomla! developers, bring-in your laptops and join us for a Joomla 1.5 bug squashing event. We are getting together on Sunday, December the 9th, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Blenz Coffee Yaletown ( Location: 338 Helmcken Street ) where there is free wireless internet, endless supply of caffeine, and beautiful down town scenery. Not to mention there will be half-price Pizza & Beer next door at the Yaletown Pub to make our party even more exciting.
During the weekend our team-mates will be working with us from San Francisco, New York, and Brussels and chat with us on the IRC channels.
- Date: Sunday December 9th
- Location: Yaletown Blenz Coffee – 338 Helmcken Street, Vancouver, BC. View Map
- Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
If you can’t join us in person, come and join us on IRC. For more fun, you can even organize a local bug squashing by finding a space with room for you and some others to work, and getting some food. Just join in the IRC so you know what is happening elsewhere.
We will also try to setup a live webcam feed and welcome everyone to idle in #joomlapbf@freenode to help out.
Event is organized by rmd Studio Inc. and Peer Globe Technologies for Joomla! CMS, one of the most powerful Open Source Content Management Systems on the planet.
To RSVP simply post a comment for this blog post. Looking forward to seeing you.

Sounds fun! I’ll look at my schedule and see if I can make it over from Salt Spring.
Sounds good Aaron! Looking forward to seeing you! 🙂
Im going to try and be there, even though I don’t really use much on 1.5 yet.
Awesome Steven! No many people are using 1.5 yet, it is still an RC application. But it is the next big thing, it is a great framework and far more flexible than the 5 year old design in version 1.0
Looking forward to seeing you!
I just want to say as a new joomla adopter with ruby on rails background, Joomla 1.5 frame work is very complete and easy to use. I am looking forward to Sunday to get my hands dirty in the Joomla code. I hope other Joomla enthusiasts join us and we can make this an ongoing event.
Thank you Arash!
Well this will be the first event of it’s kind. Small but a good start. Once coordinate well, I am very interested that we do this on a regular basis in a better venue than just a coffee shop with open wi-fi access.
I’m currently not a developper but i’ve been using joomla for a long period of time. Can i join this also?
Hi Sergio, we will be having more events for bug squashing and documentation, I have your email and I will keep you in the loop about the upcoming Vancouver Joomla events.
and also keep your eye on the announcements on http://www.joomla.org, and http://www.rmdStudio.com websites 🙂
Hello gang,
unfortunately I kinda missed out on the “bug squashing event”… but I’m looking forward to next events.
I’d be great to create a mailing list so it’s easier to send reminders to ppl who are interested to participate. Just an idea…
cheers and Happy New Year to everyone!
I have been visiting this site a lot lately, so i thought it is a good idea to show my appreciation with a comment.
Thanks,
Jim Mirkalami
